Jellooooooooooooo…

… is what my legs feel like. And my arms. And my brain.

After nearly dying at the “Saturday Sweatshop” class at The Edge Training Studio this morning, I figured I’d better write this happy blog now instead of waiting until tomorrow when I’ll probably have some choice words for my pretty little instructor.

But seriously – AWESOME. I am so tired, and tomorrow I may want to kill myself, but I’ve vowed to go get a punchcard and continue these Saturday classes. I may even try to work in a “Butts & Gutts” class on Wednesday. :)

I’m only weighing myself every Monday and Friday (have to set some boundaries, otherwise I just want to step on the scale every ten seconds to see if I’ve lost any weight), so I’ll make sure to keep Superwife up to date. Please keep the suggestions coming, I’m really open to anything right now – help me lose this weight!

As of today I’ve gotten some great tips. Here is next week’s schedule for PROJECT ELLIE BELLY (BE GONE):

Monday: (suggested by Abbie) weights for 30 min, then 45-60 min of cardio (probably elliptical)

Tuesday: (suggested by Amanda) 45-60 min of interval elliptical, then abs abs abs (and some arms)

Wednesday:(suggested by Andi & Brittany) Butts & Guts class at The Edge

Thursday: (suggested by Haley & Lindsay) Yoga class at AK Club

Friday: whatever I can stand, haha. Most likely elliptical and abs/arms

Saturday: Saturday Sweatshop class at The Edge

Sunday: REST!

New goal: 10lbs down by Feb 23. This may be a little lofty, but I have a work meeting and I’m going to see the family in Idaho and I leave on Feb 25… being able to fit into some cuter clothes would be sweet! I’ve also promised myself a hair appointment after the next 10lbs (extra incentive). :)

So… T-25lbs. Here we go!

Changin’it Up!

Because I’m majorly determined to Lose. This. Weight. I’ve decided to try to change up my workout a little bit… BUT, I totally need your help!

Normally my routine is to work out on the elliptical trainer for 40-60 min, then do abs, legs, and occassionally arms. Then I stretch, and hit the showers.

I want to know what YOU do that works for you. Leave me a comment, write me an email, or facebook me with your favorite gym routine (be it a quick run, a weight lifting program or even just a class you love) and I will choose at least two per week to fit into my gym schedule. And of course, I will keep you posted!

I know that I will hit a plateau if I keep doing the same thing over and over… and I’ll be damned if I’m not getting back to my wedding weight. As of this morning, when I weighed myself naked (after I peed and blowdried my hair, of course – no extra “water” weight!), I have a whopping 25 lbs to lose. By June. Period.

Adam probably won’t complain if I lose more.

So… Help a girl out. I’m your puppet!

I resolve…

I haven’t really made New Year’s Resolutions for the past few years, but this year I do have some things I feel strongly about. So… I’ll share so you can all keep me in line. :)

#1. Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff

I am extremely nit-picky about my house… I hate shoes out of place, and I hate crumbs on the counter, I hate unfolded blankets on the couch, etc. This year since I have a sweet beautiful baby, I resolve to spend less time worrying about the little things and more time cuddling and laughing and playing. I will not be a parent who loses time with her children because she is constantly trying to keep a perfect house. (Apologies in advance to those of you who come to my house often… I’ll try to stuff everything in a closet if you give me enough notice)

#2. Stop Over-Analyzing

A lot of things have happened in the last few months that have had my mind reeling – wanting, NEEDING an explanation. I like to know the meaning of things, the why behind actions… this year I resolve to realize the things I don’t have control over, to understand that I don’t always need to know the mindset behind others’ actions and to offer acceptance of a situation instead of judgement.

#3. Lose the Ellie-Belly

After a brief period where I actually felt kind of skinny post-baby… I’m back to feeling like a sluggish cow. I spent the holidays eating potato chips and pie, I am at an unmentionable weight and I’d like to fit into at least SOME of my old clothes. This year I resolve to lose a minimum of 25 pounds before I get pregnant again. And yes, I said that. Whole ‘nother post, right there, y’all. :) 

And there you have it… the top three things I’d like to hold myself accountable for in 2011 and beyond.

The New Adventures of Superwife… 2.0!

Well… thank you so much, Miss Molly, for the wonderful introduction. I’m honored to be making the transition from just little ol’ JennyFast to Superwife 2.0!

Molly and I have been friends for 9(ish) years, and I’ve seen no one grow more than she has in that time. She’s been a pleasure to have in my life, and I’ll do my best here to continue the fantastic blog she’s built.

So, without further ado… I guess I should introduce myself! Obviously, I’m Mrs. Jenny Fast. Formerly Jenny Jones, and I was not too bummed to change my name and leave behind the “Ohhh, I’ve seen your talk show” comments. Although now I just get a lot of “ohhh, you must be FAST!” and similar wisecracks. Ha, ha, ha. :)

My husband Adam and I were high school sweethearts back in ’98, when we dated for 2 years and then split because we were idiot kids. 6 years and a few life lessons later, we started dating again and BAM – now we’re like, married and stuff. We made it official on July 12, 2008; in 2009 we bought our first house and adopted our first puppy. We also began trying for our first baby in 2009… more on that fiasco later.

I’m a lifelong Alaskan and so is my sexy mountain man of a husband. We love fishing in the summer and riding snowmachines in the winter… two activities that let us often drink in the beauty of our Alaskan landscape.

I, like Molly, also enjoy cooking… since I know this blog has been a haven for many wonderful recipes over the years, I promise to *try* to keep it up at least a little. I can’t promise they’ll be Vegan recipes… but hopefully you’ll will enjoy my creativity as much as my girlfriend Sam does when she hangs out in my kitchen and watches me experiment. :)

So… before I start rambling (I’m kind of a pro at rambling), I’ll sum up for you:

I’m Jenny. I’m an honest and outspoken friend, sister, daughter, wife, fisherwoman, writer, sarcastic bitch, comedienne, lover of champagne, gossip queen, clean-freak, ‘Friends’ fanatic, dog-person, iPhone addict, wanna-be mommy… and, among other things, a SUPERWIFE.
