Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner

Looks like I’ll be eating a lot of chicken dinners over the next four months in order to become a “winner winner”!

Adam and I decided last weekend that we’re going to have a full-on competition to see who can get the hottest for our trip to Hawaii in February. While pigging out on churros and guacamole and Tony Roma’s ribs in California, we set our parameters:

  • Whoever loses the highest percentage of body weight by the day we leave wins.
  • Winner gets $500 to spend however they’d like – no whining or bitching from the loser (this means that when I win I can spend $500 on makeup or shoes without having to explain myself – YESSSSSSSS)
  • No crazy unhealthy fasting (*sigh*); nutritious foods and old-fashioned excercise only
  • Weigh-ins will be every Monday, and we’re keeping a log posted on the fridge

We did the math -  it’s fortunate (and fair) that we both are wanting to lose about the same percentage of weight. I’ll omit Adam’s numbers for the time being, because I didn’t ask his permission if I could publish his weight on the internet… but here are mine:

  • 10/10 Starting Weight: 147 (ohgodpleasedon’tjudgemeeventhoughIgavebirthlikeayearago)
  • 2/9 Goal Weight: 122
  • Goals: -25lbs, -17%

So… it’s settled. I am going to be so effing hot in 4 months it’s ridiculous. I’ve spent the entire last 4 days just fantasizing about myself. Really. Fantasizing about being so hot that I have to fan myself with the 500 one-dollar bills I’m going to make Adam give me. Also, the benefit here is that Adam is going to be SMOKIN’ hot as well… he’ll just be a smokin’ hot loser (although is he really “losing” if he gets to parade around Maui with a gorgeously thin and fit bikini-clad trophy wife??).

Relevant Information…

… according to my mother-in-law (or, Shit My Husband’s Mom Says):

While working our asses off during the Saturday Sweatshop class at the Edge Training Studio this weekend, my mother-in-law Lynn and I (along with my brother-in-law’s cutie high school girlfriend Jennifer) struggled our way through most of the class without any problems. When we started the intense ab workout, however, I started to feel some intense pain in my lower abs. I mentioned it to Lynn, who casually said “you JUST had a baby, Jenny, don’t overwork yourself!”

The trainer happened to hear that comment, and agreed with Lynn, telling me to take it easy. She then asked me if I had torn my abdominal wall at all during labor. Before I had a chance to even try to answer the question…

Lynn (in a voice usually reserved for large auditoriums): I was in the labor and delivery room with her, and she didn’t tear her abdominals. But she DID TEAR EVERYWHERE ELSE… BAAAAD.

Jennifer: OMG

Me: Explain to me how that is relevant information, Lynn.

Man in back of class: HAHAHAHA

Random Girl in class: *giggle giggle snort*

Trainer: Don’t worry, we hear it all… *giggle*

Lynn: What? It’s true. You had a hard labor.

Me: Thanks for enlightening the group. Sharing time is over, now do some more situps and shutup.

And then I died of embarrassment. Or maybe that one dude in the back of the class did.

… is what my legs feel like. And my arms. And my brain.

After nearly dying at the “Saturday Sweatshop” class at The Edge Training Studio this morning, I figured I’d better write this happy blog now instead of waiting until tomorrow when I’ll probably have some choice words for my pretty little instructor.

But seriously – AWESOME. I am so tired, and tomorrow I may want to kill myself, but I’ve vowed to go get a punchcard and continue these Saturday classes. I may even try to work in a “Butts & Gutts” class on Wednesday. :)

I’m only weighing myself every Monday and Friday (have to set some boundaries, otherwise I just want to step on the scale every ten seconds to see if I’ve lost any weight), so I’ll make sure to keep Superwife up to date. Please keep the suggestions coming, I’m really open to anything right now – help me lose this weight!

As of today I’ve gotten some great tips. Here is next week’s schedule for PROJECT ELLIE BELLY (BE GONE):

Monday: (suggested by Abbie) weights for 30 min, then 45-60 min of cardio (probably elliptical)

Tuesday: (suggested by Amanda) 45-60 min of interval elliptical, then abs abs abs (and some arms)

Wednesday:(suggested by Andi & Brittany) Butts & Guts class at The Edge

Thursday: (suggested by Haley & Lindsay) Yoga class at AK Club

Friday: whatever I can stand, haha. Most likely elliptical and abs/arms

Saturday: Saturday Sweatshop class at The Edge

Sunday: REST!

New goal: 10lbs down by Feb 23. This may be a little lofty, but I have a work meeting and I’m going to see the family in Idaho and I leave on Feb 25… being able to fit into some cuter clothes would be sweet! I’ve also promised myself a hair appointment after the next 10lbs (extra incentive). :)

So… T-25lbs. Here we go!
