The 3/50 Project

I saw this post floating around the interwebs, and I had to share. I am a huge supporter of indie business and I far prefer buying things from small companies over larger chains and corporations. This is even more important during times of recession.

Here are some links to a few of my favorite small shops around Anchorage, AK~

1. Bella Boutique
2. Modern Dwellers Chocolate Lounge
3. Lulu E Bebe
4. Namaste Shangri-La
5. Circular
6. Second Run Upscale Resale

If you want to pass this along, here is a link to where you can get a badge or flyer!

What a great project! I would like to note though that if you shop online from businesses within your state you have the same effect as shopping locally (minus the physical surroundings, charm, and personal interaction of course). My online business is in Arizona so all Arizonans that purchase my bath & body goodies are also paying tax to the state, paying employees, etc. Buying local is good whether you are online or not but this is a great goal and keeping locally owned brick & mortar places is extremely important. Thanks for posting this, I love your blog :c)

This is a great moto to live by – If we all did this things would get back on track much sooner than later!
