Modern Dwellers Chocolate Lounge

This past week has been full of a lot of deadlines at work, so I haven’t had too much time to myself. With it being Friday, it was time for a much needed sanity break. I had just heard of a little place in mid-town called Modern Dwellers Chocolate Lounge. Modern? Chocolate? Lounge? Sounds like three things that add up to an excellent mental retreat. We headed in last night for a little indulgence. It absolutely didn’t disappoint, and I really see this place as being my little go-to hangout when I need a break (I wonder if they have wifi?). Anyway, they specialize in Mayan style drinking chocolate which was absolutely to die for and their truffles are all made in house. I had a drinking chocolate, thinned with soy milk and a rose-infused dark chocolate truffle. It was like a little party in my mouth!

Isn’t that place amazing?! :D I have only been there a couple times, but I love it. It reminds me of my living room, all chocolate brown and super cozy. Did you like the rose chocolate? I pounced on that and the lavender, I have always been a sucker for floral candies. The smoked salmon was impressive, too. I thought it would be much longer, honestly, before Anchorage could support a place like that, but I’m thrilled to be wrong. They even have reading material that meets my expectations for ideal!

Suddenly the watered down Swiss Miss hot chocolate I’m drinking doesn’t seem so great.
I want to go there and soak up the hipness.

I’ve seen it and always wondered what it was all about. I think we’re over due for a meeting regarding “the project” we’ve discussed…perhaps over chocolate?

hi – im from the great city of madison wi and i have been there on vacation speaking of truffles – i brought home l2 a few for my friend Ellen needless to say she never tasted a one i ate all of them yummy in my tummy.

Thanks for representing us at Modern Dwellers! Our staff and business greatly appreciate friends and fans like you. Check out our new downtown store at 423 G st. (located in between 4th and 5th)… and yes! we have wifi at both locations.
